- Put on the user’s walking shoes.
- Have the user stand naturally upright as much as possible.
- Have their arms fall to the sides naturally with a normal relaxed bend at the elbow. (Please see Image for correct posture.)
- Using a tape measure or yard stick, measure the distance from their wrist joint (bottom crease at the wrist) (A) down to the ground. (B) Round up to the nearest half inch. (**For accurate length a second person must read the measurement to prevent the users wrist from moving)

I chose this folding cane because I like the birds. The pattern is lovely, it folds easily, and it has a strap! The only thing that bumps this cane down from five stars is the handle: because of significant arthritis in my hands, holding a hard cane is difficult. Would love this with a comfort grip.

I have found the cane to be more comfortable and useful than I expected. I love the design and the instructions are easy to follow. The birds are ever so slightly blurry but the photo is accurate. Very easy to unfold and fairly easy to fold. The adjustment was accurate to my order. Worth noting that the adjustment on this cane is in increments of about an inch, you can't just slide it to some space in between. Overall pleased. However, after falling twice just a few inches, it now has 4 obvious chips in the handle's black exterior.
