Blackthorn walking sticks have been a staple in Ireland for many years. The strong, knotted wood features a rustic, natural appearance that has gained popularity with cane collectives over the years. Blackthorn wood is generally dark brown to black in color it's unaltered appearance allows for each walking stick to be unique from the next. This stylish walking stick features a shiny knob handle carved from Beechwood. The contrast of the smooth, light colored Beechwood handle against the dark rough finish of the Blackthorn shaft is quite beautiful. A brass collar joins the two woods just beneath the handle.

- Put on the user’s walking shoes.
- Have the user stand naturally upright as much as possible.
- Have their arms fall to the sides naturally with a normal relaxed bend at the elbow. (Please see Image for correct posture.)
- Using a tape measure or yard stick, measure the distance from their wrist joint (bottom crease at the wrist) (A) down to the ground. (B) Round up to the nearest half inch. (**For accurate length a second person must read the measurement to prevent the users wrist from moving)
