Excellent Lightweight, Adjustable Cane
Leki is renowned for their trekking poles and their canes are also excellent. I was looking for a lightweight, adjustable, ambidextrous fritz or derby cane and decided to try the Leki Carbon Black. When carried horn-forward, it is a very solid and comfortable carry with a wrist band to aid in retention. The locks for length adjustment are easy to use and very secure - once the lower section is extended beyond the tapered area. The rubber tip can be pulled off to expose the durable carbide flex-tip that will bend and return when stuck rather than breaking the tip or the carbon fiber. The horn has grip material underneath that aides in hanging the cane on the edge of a counter. I also have the Leki Wanderfreund High Fives, which has great cork grip material, but the grip is narrow and less comfortable to carry than the Legend. I've used canes for over 20 years and the Leki Legend Carbon Black is one of the lightest and most comfortable I have.
