How do I find my size?
This cane: 37.5" if left uncut. Free custom fit sizing fits users 4'10" – 6'3".

For an exact fit, put on your walking shoes, stand with your arms relaxed at your sides, and measure from your wrist crease to the floor. Use your exact measurement if it's a whole or half inch. 3 ways to find your cane length
1. Measure the cane user (most accurate) Tap to open
In walking shoes, stand upright with arms relaxed at your sides, and measure from the wrist crease to the floor. A second person reading the tape gives the best result.
If your measurement is exactly a whole or half inch (like 34" or 34½"), order that size. If it's in between (like 34¼"), round up to the next half inch (34½").
2. Measure a cane that already fits Tap to open
Measure from the lowest point on top of the handle to the bottom of the tip. Use your exact measurement if it's a whole or half inch. Otherwise, round up to the next half inch.
3. Estimate from your height Tap to open
Your cane length is about half your height. Example: 5'6" is 66 inches, so 33". It works for most people but isn't exact, so measure when your cane arrives.

Shortening it yourself
Most canes can be shortened at home. Remove the tip, cut the extra length off the bottom, and put the tip back on. Canes can be shortened but not lengthened. Don't cut umbrella, sword, or seat canes, or any cane marked not to be sized.

Arrived well packed and ahead of schedule. Love the feel of the chrome derby handle, the pewter band adds a very nice touch, and the ebony shaft is flawless. The cane has a nice, hefty feel to it. I look forward to carrying it when dressed up to attend local orchestra performances. Curiously, the cane is listed as 37 inches (for a man 6'1"); however, it is the exact same length as two other canes purchased from this same company listed as 37.5 inches (for a man 6'2"). I am 6'2" and took a chance that this cane, at one half inch shorter, would still be comfortable enough. Not to worry, it's perfect for me.

I loved it. People complimented me on my cane. Now that is unusual. But then the stud that holds the handle to the shaft broke. Since it is not only screwed in but cemented as well, extraction and replacement is not an option. Emails for advice to the company went unanswered. For $179 I am ordering another with fingers crossed.
