Quick Sizing Guide

If this cane offers free sizing (look for the checkbox under "Add to Cart"), it's optional: choose your height, or skip it and your cane ships at its standard length.

Not sure? Order the standard length. Most canes can be shortened at home once you know the right size.

Cut canes can be exchanged, with a $15 restocking fee.

Adjustable canes set to your height, and fixed-length canes (like sword canes) can't be cut. Their fit is listed under Product Details.

3 ways to find your cane length
1. Measure the cane user (most accurate) Tap to open
Measuring from the wrist crease to the floor

In walking shoes, stand upright with arms relaxed at your sides, and measure from the wrist crease to the floor. A second person reading the tape gives the best result.

If your measurement is exactly a whole or half inch (like 34" or 34½"), order that size. If it's in between (like 34¼"), round up to the next half inch (34½").

2. Measure a cane that already fits Tap to open

Measure from the lowest point on top of the handle to the bottom of the tip. Use your exact measurement if it's a whole or half inch. Otherwise, round up to the next half inch.

3. Estimate from your height Tap to open

Your cane length is about half your height. Example: 5'6" is 66 inches, so 33". It works for most people but isn't exact, so measure when your cane arrives.

Shortening it yourself

Most canes can be shortened at home. Remove the tip, cut the extra length off the bottom, and put the tip back on. Canes can be shortened but not lengthened. Don't cut umbrella, sword, or seat canes, or any cane marked not to be sized.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.

Why Customers Love It
Customers say this ice grip attachment provides stability when walking on snow and ice. Many appreciate how easily it flips up when not needed indoors. Users particularly value its versatility across different cane types and simple installation process. While some mention it adds weight to the cane and could potentially scratch indoor floors, most find it gives them confidence during winter walks. Several note its usefulness beyond winter, working well on uneven ground year-round.

    Great idea

Conveniently attaches to my adjustable cane and can be taken off when not needed. This winter has been especially snowy and icy , with single digit temps so that the snow/icy remains on the ground. Just have to be careful, when not in use that you don't accidentally jab yourself or something in house---best to remove.
