Why we love it

A beautiful fritz-styled scrimshaw handled walking cane. There is much attention to detail in each leaf around the handle and there are four adorable acorns on top. You will be sure to get a lot of attention when using such a unique and well-crafted walking cane. Scrimshaw etching is a unique art form dating back to the American Whale man. Once carved and finely detailed out of ivory or whale bone, you'll find our selection is art-crafted from a resin material to look like an original. The silver ring collar also brings sophistication to the neck of the black beechwood shaft. It is treated with a semi-gloss water-resistant finish for protection. Also, the wood is kiln-cured for strength and durability. Compared to other canes, these are more resistant to splintering or cracking, ensuring a superior product. ***Please note a scrimshaw walking cane, will not survive being dropped. These items will not be replaced or covered under warranty if they are broken. A fragile clay like material is used to make these items. The handle will break if it is dropped or fallen***

Sizing is optional: choose your length under "Add to Cart," or skip it and your cane ships at its standard length.

3 ways to find your cane length

1. Measure the cane user (most accurate) Tap to open

Measuring from the wrist crease to the floor

In walking shoes, stand upright with arms relaxed at your sides, and measure from the wrist crease to the floor. A second person reading the tape gives the best result.

If your measurement is exactly a whole or half inch (like 34" or 34½"), order that size. If it's in between (like 34¼"), round up to the next half inch (34½").

2. Measure a cane that already fits Tap to open

Measure from the lowest point on top of the handle to the bottom of the tip. Use your exact measurement if it's a whole or half inch. Otherwise, round up to the next half inch.

3. Estimate from your height Tap to open

Your cane length is about half your height. Example: 5'6" is 66 inches, so 33". It works for most people but isn't exact, so measure when your cane arrives.

User's height	Cane length
4'10"	29"
4'11"	29.5"
5'0"	30"
5'1"	30.5"
5'2"	31"
5'3"	31.5"
5'4"	32"
5'5"	32.5"
5'6"	33"
5'7"	33.5"
5'8"	34"
5'9"	34.5"
5'10"	35"
5'11"	35.5"
6'0"	36"
6'1"	36.5"
6'2"	37"
6'3"	37.5"
6'4"	38"
6'5"	38.5"

6'9"	40.5"
6'10"	41"

Shortening it yourself

Most canes can be shortened at home. Remove the tip, cut the extra length off the bottom, and put the tip back on. Canes can be shortened but not lengthened. Don't cut umbrella, sword, or seat canes, or any cane marked not to be sized.
