3 ways to find your cane length
1. Measure the cane user (most accurate) Tap to open
In walking shoes, stand upright with arms relaxed at your sides, and measure from the wrist crease to the floor. A second person reading the tape gives the best result.
If your measurement is exactly a whole or half inch (like 34" or 34½"), order that size. If it's in between (like 34¼"), round up to the next half inch (34½").
2. Measure a cane that already fits Tap to open
Measure from the lowest point on top of the handle to the bottom of the tip. Use your exact measurement if it's a whole or half inch. Otherwise, round up to the next half inch.
3. Estimate from your height Tap to open
Your cane length is about half your height. Example: 5'6" is 66 inches, so 33". It works for most people but isn't exact, so measure when your cane arrives.

Shortening it yourself
Most canes can be shortened at home. Remove the tip, cut the extra length off the bottom, and put the tip back on. Canes can be shortened but not lengthened. Don't cut umbrella, sword, or seat canes, or any cane marked not to be sized.

When unsheathed the Zap cane is very impressive. With it snapping and crackling an agressor's eyes are not going to leave it. That is a super distraction that will enable a supposed victum to freely employ a more dangerous weapon such as a consealed handgun or a less lethal tool such as a powerful blue laser like the ones used by the anti ICE protesters in the northwest to temporally blind the assailant. There are other tools that can be used as a distraction but none as impressive.

Quality Product. Haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. Really sort of hoping I never do. Nice to know I have it if I ever feel I need it.
