Stun guns work best when the metal prongs in front can touch bare skin. Most people wear clothing. The prongs on the Zapper are sharp/pointy and long enough to get past layers of clothing. These prongs can also obtain DNA sample to assist police to latter ID perpetrator/criminal.
I've yet to see any other zapper have prongs like this. The flashlight on this model works a lot better than the older model.
